Of course we must balance the budget. We also must pay off our $20 trillion debt. I�m all for tax cuts in theory�and clearly some of our taxes were problematic prior to the recent reform, but someone needs to tell the country that we must cut spending while maintaining revenues to facilitate payments on our debt.

Individual contributions are limited--but corporations can give unlimited amounts? Congress must step into campaign finance law because, until they do, the Supreme Court will continue to legislate. And they're doing a bad job.

We must secure our border before anything further can be done. Then we need to fix our broken immigration system. We must restrict chain migration and end the immigration lottery.

Nation building is a failure. Our foreign policy is a disaster. We cannot force democracy upon the Middle East.
My 4-policy platform is: Congress is broke, Social Security--which fails in 2034--is almost broke, The Department of Veterans Affairs is beyond broke, and the federal tax code--at 75,000 pages--is breaking us all. A Congress that works would fix these things. There are two ways to fix Congress. First: Federalism. Washington must send power back to the states. Second: Congress must strengthen the committee system-it's how we wrote the Constitution. A few leaders have taken power from the members by destroying the committee system. Can you imagine a Congress that works? I can.
